Thanksgiving New Arrivals from Target!

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays for lots of reasons. In our house, it signifies the start of the holiday season—specifically as we watch Santa Claus arrive in New York on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Then there’s the excitement when the doorbell first rings—the anticipation of seeing everybody for the celebration.

And the food—the food! We’re all big foodies in my family, and most of us enjoy cooking, so everybody pitches in, providing something toward the meal. Last year, my soon-to-be sister-in-law made a baked brie that we begged her to repeat this year (sending her a text ASAP to remind her, ha!).

In any case, Thanksgiving is a big one for me. But it’s also a little tricky to decorate for sometimes because it falls between Halloween and Christmas, making it, sometimes, a little lackluster.

But Target partnered with John Derian on a holiday collaboration and I am smitten.

This guy will definitely sell out fast. Most animal-inspired pillows fall into the cute category, but this is nothing but elegant. If you do nothing else to decorate all but your table for Thanksgiving, make it this fun feathered friend.

Speaking of tables, I can’t get over these elegant place card holders and this stunning—and I mean STUNNING—table linen. Both look like they could’ve been sourced at your favorite local vintage shop, and on a holiday with so much tradition, that’s a must for me. The neutrals and slight pops of color make it an easy fit in most rooms—you could focus on one of those colors to make the rest seamlessly work with your space.

Of course, if you’re hosting, figuring out what to serve and what vessels to use are a big part of the equation. There are other pieces (you can find them here!), but two that I loved were these drinking glasses and the pumpkin tureen. I know a pumpkin tureen isn’t all that unique to find, but at this price, it’s almost unheard of. The glasses are so unique, and if you’re someone who loves Thanksgiving china but doesn’t have the space, using special, affordable ($15 for 4) glassware is a fun, easy-to-store way to pull out something special for the table.

The last thing I’ll share are a couple of the kid-centric pieces (genius!). If you host, you know that it can be a challenge to engage young children, but also make their space, the “kid’s table”, fun. I was honestly so pleased to see that the collection featured kid-safe melamine pieces and activities to round out the holiday decor (images below are clickable).

Stock up now, friends. I’ve got a feeling this collection is going to go quick.
