Amazon Gift Guide 2023
I know we haven’t celebrated Halloween yet, but if there’s one thing my thirties have taught me so far, it’s that preparedness is everything if you want to avoid holiday overwhelm. If, like me, you’re trying to get a head start on your shopping, you’ve come to the right place.
The first gift lists(s) I’m sharing were curated especially for those who want to shop from Amazon, an ideal solution for Prime members. I hope that these lists spark some inspiration and take one less thing off your growing to-do list this holiday season.
I did my best to curate lists for folks who might be harder to shop for. If you’re looking for fellow grandmillennial-inspired items, take a peek at my Idea Lists here.
FOR THE OUTDOORSMAN (or WOMAN)
Carhartt Detroit Jacket: In my humble opinion, every guy should have one of these durable, 100% cotton jackets. It’ll keep him warm, plus it looks sharp—the corduroy-trimmed collar is a nice touch.
Stanley Pour Over Coffee Maker: If he camps, fishes, or hunts, this pour over coffee maker is for him. It’s hardy and stainless steel, so it can brave the outdoor elements with him, plus it’s easy to use. Just pour the coffee grounds into the filter, add hot water, and it’ll brew right into the attached (reusable). No paper filters required!
Adult Binoculars: A good pair of binoculars is one of those gifts that guys who spend time outdoors either want or don’t know they want, but will totally wind up using once they’ve got them. Great for beginner birders, hikers, and even for outdoor sporting events!
YETI Tundra 35 Cooler: I feel like an indestructible YETI cooler needs no introduction, but I’ll do it anyway. This beloved brand’s Tundra 35 is a portable, easy-to-carry cooler that can fit up to 20 cans with a 2:1 ice ratio. The Desert Tan color is sharp, but there are other options available.
Solo Stove: You’ve probably seen these everywhere, and it’s because they’re great. The lightweight, smokeless fire pit comes with a removable ash tray making it easy to clean. I’ll sound silly for saying it, but as much as I love a bonfire, the smoke always bothers me, and I hate how it sticks to my hair—not with this bad boy!
Battles Map by Map: For the guy who talks about famous battles at every dinner.
Carhartt Beanie: I don’t know one man out there who couldn’t use a new beanie, and this one comes in a bunch of colors, is from a reputable brand, and is 100% cotton. Would look great with the jacket I mentioned above (same brand).
MaxiClimber: If he can’t get outside because the weather’s not cooperating, this climber lets him get a workout from the comfort of home. We have a version of this, and it is so much harder than it looks! If you know someone looking for a good workout, this is it.
Traveling Slow Cooker: This 8-quart traveling slow cooker is a tailgate’s best friend.
Bird Feeder with Camera: If he’s always looking out the window trying to see which bird (or squirrel) is eating the seed, he’ll appreciate this fun wireless feeder.
FOR THE HOSTESS
Southern Entertainer’s Cookbook: Courtney, who you might know as “Pizzazzerie” (your hostess friend has surely heard of her), compiled her entertaining go-to’s with a southern twist in this cookbook.
4-Pack Wine Glasses: These fan favorite wine glasses are a great hostess gift or gift for the one who’s always hosting girl’s night. The different colors make it easy to keep track of which glass belongs to you, and they’re cute enough to display if she has glass cabinets or open shelving.
Art of Tea Book: The ultimate grandmillennial hostess guide to savoring one of life’s pleasures—the ritual of tea! It’s got recipes, presentation ideas, history, and more.
Dinnerware Set: I don’t recommend replacing a friend’s dinnerware set unless she asks, but if you’ve got a family member who could use an upgrade, this one is affordable and pretty. Excellent for those tablescape shots she shares on social media!
FOR THE ZEN ONE
Plant-Based Milk Maker: If you’ve got a friend who loves her almond (or cashew, or oat, or soy…) milk, you’ll be her new bestie for hooking her up with this lifesaving gadget. This makes 20oz of fresh plant-based milk in minutes (it also makes smoothies and other beverages). Help her reduce her carbon footprint while safely making her own at-home plant-based ingredients.
Silk Sleep Mask: If she values her beauty sleep (or travels often), she’ll love this luxurious silk sleep mask. I personally own this and can attest to how gorgeous it is, as well as comfortable.
Towel Warmer: I shared this on Prime Day, and couldn’t believe how many of you decided to go for it (and how many said they already owned and loved it). This is one of those indulgences that many people won’t get for themselves, but will love and use every day.
Five-Minute Journal: Gratitude and mindfulness. Enough said.
Hatch Alarm: Nothing starts the day off on the wrong foot like an angry, buzzing alarm clock. I switched to a sunrise simulation alarm a couple of years ago, and I’ll never go back. It’s less jarring, and allows you to wake gradually, leaving you feeling less groggy. If you have trouble falling asleep, it can help with that, too.
Amazon Kindle: As someone who just upgraded her very old Kindle, I can assure you the bookworm in your life will appreciate the replacement.
For the One who Appreciates Luxury
Shaving Brush Kit: Chances are your friend who has expensive taste and shaves already has a routine and preferred products; however, this shaving stand, bowl, and brush add a little luxury to his experience.
Marshall Bluetooth Speaker: When not just any portable speaker will do, grab this sexy LBS (little black speaker). It’s resilient (waterproof), has 30+ hours of play on a single charge, and has multi-directional sound.
Chunky Heel Boot: These boots look more expensive than they are, have just enough height, and hit around the knee.
Ice Machine: If you’ve got a friend without an ice cube maker on their fridge (it’s more common than you’d think!), consider gifting them this portable version. It produces 24 cubes every 15 minutes, and you can adjust the cube thickness.
Peach Ottoman: Know someone who needs to put up their feet? This classic peach-colored ottoman with gold tassel rope bullion fringe is the perfect ottoman for the job.
Pearl Claw Clip: Upgrade her hair day with this set of 4 pretty claw clips.
Charging Station: This charging station includes space for wireless phone charging, an LED nightlight (10 hours from one charge), and a Bluetooth speaker.
Silk Pillowcase: If you haven’t heard, silk pillowcases have a lot of pluses. It’s said that they reduce friction on skin and hair (anti-bedhead and anti-acne), as well as absorb less (anti-aging), allowing moisture to remain on the skin.
Fuzzy Slippers: An elegant pair of slippers with a cute feathered pom make even pajamas look chic.
Weighted Blanket: A weighted blanket is both comforting and luxurious; once you’ve used one, you’re hooked. Beauty sleep won’t be a problem moving forward! Multiple colors available.
A Century of Style, AD Book: If they’ve got a subscription to Architectural Digest, chances are they’ll appreciate this coffee table book that celebrates a century of the magazine by highlighting material from the archives.
Men’s Slippers: Men like having warm feet, too!
Stanley Tumbler: There are two teams when it comes to the tumbler trend. I’m going to guess your friend already has a collection of these and would love a new addition.
Wool Cardigan: This mid-length long-sleeved cardigan is 100% wool and is timeless.
Set of 4 Dining Chairs: If you’ve got someone on your list (who you’re close enough to) who needs a dining room upgrade, look no further than these pretty cornflower blue dining room chairs. The set of four is under $300 (as of now), and can lean rustic, traditional, French country, etc.
FOR THE CHEF
Vitamix Immersion Blender: This is one of those tools that, if you have a regular blender, you might not see the value of having around, but as someone who has both, I promise you won’t regret it (or giving it to someone who cooks!). The scratch guard protects your pots and pans, which means you can stick it right into your stockpot to blend a soup.
Blackstone Griddle: I don’t know a man in my life who doesn’t want this game-changing gas griddle. It’s got an easy start button, a grease trap, and can make breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Crock-Pot Portable Warmer: If you’ve got a friend who cooks most nights, I’m positive they bring leftovers to work for their lunch the next day. This on-the-go warmer from the trusted Crock-Pot brand makes it easy.
Sous Vide Precision Cooker: Never wonder about the temperature of your steak again! Sous vide cooking creates the perfect level of doneness for whatever’s on your menu (but most people us it for meat) without sacrificing flavor or moisture. I promise that home chefs everywhere have looked into this and will have so much fun using it.
Sur La Table Knife Set: Crafted from German steel, this 5-piece knife set from a trusted culinary product brand will look chic on the counter and comes with the essentials.
Wireless Meat Thermometer: If the grill is their sanctuary, consider this a way to increase the ambiance.
Microwave Sandwich Maker: Have less of a cook and more of a microwave user on your hands (or a college student who’s getting really tired of the food hall)? Check out this sandwich maker, that basically creates hot panini’s in the microwave.
FOR KIDS & FAMILIES
Projector: If you’ve got kids in your life, chances are there’s a show, movie, or YouTube tutorial they’d love to watch on the big screen. Turn the living room into a theater with this projector! It connects to media players and gaming consoles, plus has options to pair with Amazon Fire, Google Chromecast, or Apple TV so you can stream. Splurge for a screen if you’d like, but a wall works just as well!
Nintendo Switch Controller: I’m told all the kids are playing the Nintendo Switch these days (when did I get old?), and with the hype of the Mario movie this past year, your favorite gamer will love this fun controller. If they’re playing on another console, you can follow the link and do a quick search to see what is available for their game system!
Barbie Dreamhouse: It’s the year of the Barbie, and this coveted dollhouse is already a best seller! Let me tell you—these have come a long way since I was a kid. This version comes with over 75 pieces, is three-stories, converts from a pool party to a slumber party (and pet palace!), has lights, sounds, and a top-floor balcony!
Magna-Tiles: I love gifts that encourage kids use their imaginations and get creative, and these magnetic building tiles do just that. The 32-piece set is a certified STEAM toy, and aids in the development of fine motor skills, bilateral coordination, cognitive skills, executive functioning, and more.
Amazon Fire HD: A kid-friendly tablet with safe, educational content, parental controls, and access to their favorite streaming services.
Hover Soccer Ball: Gets their energy out, and is safe for indoor use!
Trekking: A strategy-based board game featuring National Parks—how fun! It’d also be a unique way to tell your kids about an upcoming vacation.
Taylor Swift Book: If you’ve got a young Swiftie on your gift list this year, this book in her stocking will be a hit.
FOR TEENS
Record Player: If they’re going to listen to their music at full volume, at least have them do it in this vintage-inspired record player.
Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer: If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen me talk about this more than once; I have it and swear by it. If you’ve got a teen (any woman in your life, honestly) who struggles to get out of the house on time or has hair that requires drying and styling, give this a whirl.
Gaming Chair: If the teen you’re shopping for plays video games (specifically games that aren’t handheld, but use a gaming monitor), this is a splurge, but a great gift.
Photo Printer: Kids these days don’t know the thrill of dropping their disposable camera off at the counter and coming back four hours later to see what they captured. This isn’t that, but at least they’ll have hard copies. A great way to gift grandparents pictures that they might not be seeing online, too.
Spa Headband: She can wash her face without getting water all over her hair and arms!
Slippers: I don’t know a teen girl who wouldn’t love a pair of new fuzzy slippers.
Dry Brush: Tik Tok made her do it. But, in all seriousness, it has amazing benefits.
Electronic Drum Set: A great gift for teen boys who don’t live in your house, ha!
Lululemon Belt Bag: The Everywhere Belt Bag is, well, everywhere. Not worried about the name brand? I’ve got this great dupe that you’ll find here (it’s held up well all summer and fall—no complaints).
Checkered Clips: The 90s hair clips are back, y’all! And these are colorful in a variety of check patterns, which are majorly trending with the teen set right now.
Sticker Printer: If you’ve got a doodler or artist on your hands, this is a fun one.
Cloud Perfume: It’s Ariana Grande’s fragrance, and Gen Z is loving it.
FOR THE FAMILY PET AND/OR FUR PARENT
Furbo 360 Dog Camera: If you’ve got a friend who’s constantly wondering what her dog is up to at home while she’s at work (or who just plain misses them), this is a must! She can record, get notified if Fido starts barking, toss treats to him, and more.
Funny Dog Toy: Whether you’re looking for something to put in Fido’s stocking (or, in our house, Rufus’) or need a gift for your dog mom friend, a new toy is always appreciated. Especially one this cute! It also comes in a “Sweet Puppy Paws BBQ”, “Chewlua”, and “RedHound”.
Pet Bracelet: The dog or cat mom in your life will appreciate this bracelet. It’s also a sweet way to honor a lost pet, if your friend has had to say goodbye to a fur baby this year. You can choose silver, gold, or rose gold, up to 8 pets (!), and can customize the quantity of dog vs cat charms on it.
Dog Coat: I’m personally not a fan of dressing dogs up, but if you walk your dog often in cooler weather, a pullover is a must to keep them warm. It comes in various sizes and colors/patterns.
