Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas

  • 2999 Turtle Creek Boulevard Dallas, TX, 75219 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

“In 2020, the internationally recognized Kips Bay Decorator Show House announced its newest satellite show house in Dallas, Texas. The highly anticipated Kips Bay Decorator Show House, hosted by premier youth organization the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, announced today the prestigious location of its fifth annual Decorator Show House in Dallas, Texas. The must-see design event has claimed 2999 Turtle Creek Boulevard in the esteemed Turtle Creek neighborhood as its 2024 location. The Show House will be open to the public for three weeks beginning Friday, October 25, 2024, and doubles as the nation’s leading design event of the year as well as the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club’s top fundraiser

Once intended to become the city’s first Mandarin Oriental hotel, the property sits between the historic Rosewood Mansion and the planned Four Seasons Hotel & Residences, featuring a 25,000 SF two-story office building, 2.3 acres of undeveloped land, and a 60,0000 SF below-grade parking garage. 2999 Turtle Creek seamlessly blends modernity with the historic French-Renaissance style that gives the neighborhood its signature feel.

For nearly half a century, top interior designers have come together to raise more than $30 million for the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, which provides young people with much needed educational and developmental programs.

The Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas also benefits two local Dallas charities: Dwell with Dignity, a nonprofit agency dedicated to creating soothing, inspiring homes for families struggling with homelessness and poverty, and The Crystal Charity Ball, another Dallas-based organization whose mission is to aid, support and make contributions to children's charities in Dallas County.”

Introduction to Mountain Gardening

Introduction to Mountain Gardening

“Join famed Landscape Architect Mary Palmer Dargan, Arielle McIntyre, and Dr. Nancy Pelaez Anderson to talk about cultivating the spirit of your landscape. They will discuss how anyone can use plants to make an outdoor space more beautiful, easier to care for, and better for wildlife, whether you have a shady or an open yard, a slope that needs erosion control, or a deck space or small balcony. This lively seminar will explore landscape designs that provide safe havens for the birds and wildlife we love. Food and shelter are needed for our favorite regular birds, and pit stops for seasonal and migratory wildlife visitors. By working with nature to design a dynamic landscape for our bioregion, the speakers will demonstrate how they edit an existing landscape and consider working with nature to create a successful plateau or high-elevation landscape. Knowing what to keep, what to remediate, and what to get rid of, the speakers will address typical problems and offer some design solutions based on naturalistic planting to make your landscape fit the spirit of your home.

This is a free event open to the public, connected to the Cashiers Historical Society’s Designer Showhouse.
